Scharner on Roberto's radar

West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo is still hoping to do some more business before the close of the window, with negotiations continuing with out-of-contract former Wigan utility player Paul Scharner. The Baggies were narrowly beaten at Liverpool on Sunday, and Di Matteo is keen to improve his squad to continue to try and bridge the gap. "We are talking to Paul and we will see if there is a possibility to do a deal with him," he said. "I guess that would conclude our [transfer] business." The Italian was disappointed with his side's result at Anfield but accepted they had succumbed to a moment of quality. "I thought we coped well with (Fernando) Torres all afternoon but the difference with these kind of players is they need half a chance," he added.
