Georgios Samaras has had his contract at West Brom terminated by mutual consent, the Barclays Premier League club have announced.

Samaras had 12 months remaining on the two-year deal he signed last summer when he moved to The Hawthorns as a free agent after being released by Scottish champions Celtic.

The 30-year-old Greece international striker made just eight appearances for Albion, most coming from the substitutes' bench.

In February he was loaned out to Al-Hilal until the end of the season. Samaras played 11 times for the Saudi Arabian club, scoring two goals.
