Roy up for Stoke 'opportunity'

Head coach dismisses any hoodoo Roy Hodgson says he’s looking forward to the opportunity of putting an end to Albion’s miserable record against Stoke City tonight (KO 8pm). The Baggies have won just once in their past 26 league meetings against the Potters losing an incredible 18 times. But Hodgson, taking charge of just his second game in charge, insists there’s no hoodoo attached to the run and is focusing on three valuable points. "Stoke have had quite a good record in recent years so I think a few teams will fall into the category of finding it hard to beat them," said the former Liverpool and Fulham man. "But I'm not superstitious about stats like that - I think they represent an opportunity. "If someone says 'you do realise you haven't won there for the last goodness knows how long' I see it as a chance to put it right. "Whether you manage to do it is another matter! "But I don't regard this as a weight on my shoulders. "My take on it is 'we've got nothing to lose, everyone expects us to return empty-handed, so let's go out there and prove them wrong'."
