Boss set to be appointed imminently

Ralf Rangnick today moved a step closer to succeeding Roy Hodgson as the next Albion manager.

A decision is expected by the German before the end of the week after being offered the job last week by Albion officials after several rounds of interviews and negotiations.

The former Schalke boss has been linked with the Belgium post, but interim coach Marc Wilmots has been handed the role paving the way for Rangnick to take over at The Hawthorns.

If the German decides against taking the post, Steve Clarke, Mike Phelan and Michael Appleton are all believed to be in contention.
