QPR Point Please's Boss

Hodgson Happy With Albion Resolve

Roy Hodgson was pleased to see the Baggies earn a well deserved point at Loftus Road.

Albion found themselves behind in the 20th minute when Rangers capatalised on Nicky Shorey’s indecision on the edge of the area with Heider Helguson heading home unmarked at the back post.

But further defensive errors went unpunished and Shane Long equalised nine minutes from time after excellent work from James Morrison and Peter Odemwingie in the build up.

"I thought the longer the game went on, the more we looked likely to score," said Hodgson.

"In the first half, we were a bit unlucky to go in 1-0 down as we didn't concede many chances.

"It was a clear defensive error that led to the goal.

"In the second half, we kept going at them, had quite a lot of possession in the middle of the park and were getting into the final third.

"I just thought if we could keep doing it, sooner or later, we might get our reward.

"At the other end, we did our best on a couple of occasions to gift them another one - but we got away with it.

"Peter did well when he came on.

"I thought he started slowly.

"But it's a long while since he played and he got stronger and stronger and did very well for the goal.

"It was a nice piece of football and a good goal.

"At that stage of the game, we were threatening to score and got it.”

Hodgson added: “It's a good start to December, coming away to QPR and getting a point.

"Their record here has been good.

"They've beaten Chelsea here and ran Manchester City close.

"We knew it wasn't going to be an easy game so we're not unhappy with that.

"But, as far as I'm concerned, every month is crucial and every game is crucial.

"You can't afford to be nonchalant about certain games in the hope the games to come will help you out.

"You need to get your points where you can and today we got the point we deserved."
