West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis was grounded by fog as well as his side's failure to put away their late chances after their 1-1 Premier League draw at Hull.
Pulis pushed through the post-match press conference in double-quick time as the Baggies made a futile bid to beat the encroaching weather and get to Humberside airport in time to make their short fight back to the Midlands.
It was far from the first missed opportunity of the day for the Baggies after Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli both missed excellent late chances to seal a third straight win.
Gareth McAuley had headed the visitors into a 34th minute lead before Hull captain Michael Dawson struck the equaliser for the hosts early in the second half.
Pulis said: "In the last 15 minutes there was Chadli's effort and two headers at the back post - we're a bit disappointed. We should have won the game.
"I thought it (Rondon's chance) was in from where I was. Salomon did a fantastic job today and we just needed him to put that one in to put the icing on the cake."
The visitors dominated possession in the first half but failed to make the most of their chances and Pulis paid tribute to the improvement of the hosts, who had failed to muster a single shot in the first 50 minutes.
Pulis added: "In the second half you have to give Hull credit - they started well and put us on the back foot and had a couple of opportunities.
"I thought we'd weathered that but obviously they get the goal, but the great thing is this group of lads know how to keep working."
Hull boss Mike Phelan paid tribute to Dawson, who bounced back from a nightmare display at the Stadium of Light two weeks ago to grab his side a potentially crucial point.
Phelan said: "Michael is a very experienced footballer and he loves being captain of this club.
"He makes mistakes just like the rest of us - if you look at the first goal at Sunderland he probably made a rash call - but this week he's done totally the opposite.
"Experience tells you that he's learned from that so he's not going to go there again, and now he's contributed with the goal which is even better."
Phelan went on to hail his side's second half display but admitted they were still lucky to emerge with a point after the Baggies' missed chances late on.
Phelan added: "I thought we had the better of the second half but we could have conceded at the death and I could be sitting here talking about a defeat.
"But we got away with it - we're still in virgin territory a bit and we have to learn to concentrate for 96 minutes of the match because it is never over."
