Striker picks up Player of the Month award for second time Hot-shot striker Peter Odemwingie has joined the likes of Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo after winning the two Barclays Player-of-the-Month awards in a season. The striker was rewarded for his goals Aston Villa, Spurs and Liverpool as he helped secure Albion’s Premier League status for another season. The humble Nigerian has thanked his team-mate for their contribution in helping him become only sixth player in Premier League history to receive the coveted award twice in a season. "This is not just for me, it is also for my team-mates, who give me the confidence to do what I do," said the 14-goal hitman. "I'm happy to pick up the award for the second time this year and it is the result of good team performances. "When I won it in September we were excellent. We had a good away win at the Emirates and beat Blues in a derby. "Overall the team performance was great last month, my team-mates made it easier for me and I am doing well. "There are many reasons why I am happy here, on and off the pitch. "Things are going well, I'm motivated, I really like the league and I'm playing at a good club, where I'm being looked after well. "Our supporters are really nice to me and there are no problems in the dressing room. "All these things make a big difference."
