Olsson backs Hodgson ahead of Liverpool test

Defender says former Anfield boss has been brilliant at The Hawthorns Jonas Olsson insists Roy Hodgson will be focusing purely on the Baggies this week. The former Liverpool boss takes on his former employers for the first time since he was relieved of his Anfield duties back in January on Saturday (KO 3pm). But Olsson believes the Reds’ loss is Albion’s gain after being part of the unbeaten side Hodgson has built at The Hawthorns. The Swedish international admits the media will probably use the fixture to fill column inches, but it’ll be business as usual for the ever-professional Hodgson.    "It will be blown up by the media I guess," he said. "But we have seen what a good manager he is. "He is unbeaten since he's arrived and has done a brilliant job so far. "All of the players are on board with him and taking in his ideas. "He's only had five or so weeks yet we are already seeing the results from the changes he's made. "If we can just stay up this year and have a whole pre-season with this gaffer then we'll have some very promising times ahead."I don't see him as the kind of man who will get carried away with it this week. "For him it's another three points, as it is for the players and fans. "I don't think he will see it as a chance to justify himself. "It's about getting this club further away from relegation. "He has enough quality as a manager and person without having his own agenda or having any need to put the record straight. "Perhaps it will be more special but the only relevance come the final whistle will be three points." Can Hodgson get one over against his former Liverpool team?
