Odemwingie seeks more than survival

Peter Odemwingie believes West Brom can sustain their position as the leading midlands side in the Barclays Premier League until the end of the season. The Baggies were regarded as one of the favourites for relegation at the start of the campaign. But they are currently ahead of Birmingham, Aston Villa and Wolves and in eighth spot after their impressive 3-1 home success over Newcastle. Odemwingie netted twice to take his tally for the season to six and he reckons the quality football played by Roberto di Matteo's side mean they can remain as the area's top team. He said: "West Brom have a good chance of being the leading midlands side by the end of season because we play good football. I hear comments from all over Europe and Africa where they are watching the games saying we are playing very good football. "For me, any team that plays good football, the results will come and then the little extra we need to put in, will make sure of that."
