Odemwingie eyes 15-goal target

Peter Odemwingie has set himself a 15-goal target for the season to help save West Brom from an instant return to the Championship. Odemwingie scored his ninth goal of the campaign during Tuesday night's 2-2 home draw with fellow strugglers Wigan. He is taking pride from being on a par goal-wise with some of the big name strikers in the Barclays Premier League. But Odemwingie is determined to maintain his standards and add at least half a dozen goals in the Baggies' final 14 matches of the campaign. He said: "There have been other strikers moving from club to club and it gives me quite a bit of pride to have similar goal figures to them. At the moment the top strikers in the Premier League have about eight or nine goals, the same as myself. "It gives me a lot of confidence that I have the same number of goals as the top strikers of good teams in England have. I think nine goals so far is a good achievement in the Premier League where getting goals is not that easy. "I won't say I found it easy. I think I am being fed a lot with the ball. That's why I get chances to score. If I had taken the chances I've missed, I would now be counting 12-13 goals."
