West Brom loan striker Romelu Lukaku has hailed manager Steve Clarke and believes he will lead the club to success this season.

Last weekend's 3-0 win over Liverpool at the Hawthorns was the perfect start to the season and Lukaku, who scored the third goal, expects Clarke to have a big impact at the West Midlands club.

"The gaffer knows the game and if you know the game you can manage really well," Lukaku told the Birmingham Mail.

"We saw what he did for many years at Chelsea, where he was a great assistant coach.

"Now he is showing everybody he can do it in the top flight as a manager and I hope we get some good results with him this season.

"I've never worked with him before but it's good to work with him now because he worked as an assistant manager with (Jose) Mourinho, who I would love to work with in the future."
