West Brom midfielder Robert Koren has cast doubt over his long-term future at the club after he claimed he has asked for a January transfer.[LNB] The 29-year-old is in his fourth season at The Hawthorns but is unhappy at his lack of regular football in his preferred central midfield role and has fallen behind Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans in manager Roberto Di Matteo's team selections.[LNB] Koren was quoted in the Express and Star: "I never got a chance in the centre but always in a wing position. This was from the outset of the season after the arrival of the new coach. Even in friendly matches I never got the opportunity in the middle."[LNB] Despite this, Koren has denied there has been any rift with Di Matteo and simply wants to move in order to gain more first-team football.
