Jerome Thomas unsure of West Brom future

West Brom winger Jerome Thomas has still had no discussions with the club over his future even though his current contract runs out this summer.

Thomas has regained a first-team spot in recent games after returning from a loan spell at Leeds designed to gain him match fitness after a series of injury niggles. The 29-year-old is unsure what the Baggies "have in mind" but believes Albion should know already what he is capable of via his performances in recent seasons.

Thomas said: "I did exactly what I was asked to do by the staff here, which was to go out on loan, get fit and perform well."

He continued: "I did that, helped Leeds up the table and I've come back ready to battle for my place in the team.

"But as for the future, we've had no discussions with the manager or hierarchy.

"Is this a window to force a new contract? My performances should do that but I'd have thought my performances over the last few seasons would have done that anyway.

"I'm not sure what the club have in mind. I'm just working as hard as I can and aiming to push Albion back up the table."

Former England Under-21 international Thomas is in his fourth season at the Hawthorns and Zoltan Gera's long-term knee ligament injury has provided an opening to regain his first team spot.
