Hodgson to wait on Dorrans

Boss believes midfielder needs more time Roy Hodgson believes Albion fans won’t see the best of Graham Dorrans until he reaches full fitness in a few months time. The Baggies boss thinks that the Scotland international still lacks the fitness levels of the rest of the first team squad after his ankle injury last season. Dorrans returned back for pre-season training before his teammates and completed a full programme without aggravating the injury which ruled him out from March onwards last term. But Hodgson feels the talented midfielder still needs more hours on the training field and in competitive action before he is firing on all cylinders again. "He's a quality player," said the former Fulham and Liverpool chief. "You saw that on numerous occasions on Tuesday. "He has missed a lot of football and training but we're working hard to put that right. "I thought his performance was good. "By his standards, it was only good because he is such a good player and he can do even better than that. "But I'm certainly more than happy with him and the progress he's making. "He's got some Scotland games coming up and I think we'll see the best of him October/November time when he has more games and training time under his belt."
