HATCHET MAN: Gray was pie in the Sky when he said Baggies lack fight - West Brom lack quality not bo

Andy Gray upset Tony Mowbray this week by saying his West Bromwich Albion

team did not have enough fight to stay up, but the usually sharp pundit got it wrong.

They don't have enough quality, guile or drive to survive in the Premier League. Kicking people is not their game - they leave the muscleman approach to Stoke

and Bolton

- but that is not the reason for their impending downfall.

Long road ahead: But Tony Mowbray's problem is not enough decent players

West Bromwich are just not good enough to pull off the sort of football they believe in at the top level and having more of their sub-standard squad suspended more often is hardly likely to improve their predicament.
