Jara extends stay until 2014 Chilean ace Gonzalo Jara has become the latest Albion player to commit his future to the club.  Following in the footsteps of Jerome Thomas, Youssouf Mulumbu, Graham Dorrans and James Morrison, Jara has penned a new deal until 2014. The versatile defender and midfield stared in this year’s World Cup Finals in South Africa with Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo delighted to retain his services. “Gonzo fully deserves this new contract,” said the head coach. “He has proved an excellent acquisition and played a big part in our promotion success last season before his unfortunate injury. “He is a total professional, has a terrific attitude and his versatility is a real asset to the squad. “Gonzo has all the attributes needed to play in the Premier League and I believe he has a big role to play this season within the framework of the team.” Jara joined the Baggies a year ago for a bargain £1.4 million.
