Nicolas Anelka is set to join Indian team Mumbai FC, after his agent denied rumours of move to Fiorentina.

Anelka, who has had featured for 6 different teams in the Premier league, last featured for West Brom before being dismissed for his controversial quenelle gesture last year. He has now joined the up and coming Indian league, following the likes of Alessandro Del Piero and Robert Pires in making the switch to South Asia. The Indian Super League was founded in 2013 in order to promote football in India and to promote it’s popularity worldwide. The league follows a similar set-up to the MLS where there are no relegations or promotions, and it runs between October and November, with the Semi-final and Final’s being played in December
