Hodgson happy to sign off with a win Albion head coach Roy Hodgson had double reason to celebrate after his side edged Everton to 1-0 victory and kept a clean sheet! The Baggies had only kept one clean sheet prior to the victory against the Toffees – in their first home game of the season. Youssouf Mulumbu’s tenth minute goal sent Albion up to 10th spot in the Premier League, but it was Albion’s rearguard shut-out which caught the eye of Hodgson before he led his side around The Hawthorns pitch after the final whistle. "It was satisfying to get an elusive clean sheet because it gave us the three points. "That was the most satisfying thing about it. "We certainly lived dangerously on certain occasions so we can be thankful to some very good blocking in the penalty area and one excellent save from Scott Carson early on. "We also had plenty of chances of our own. "I'm sure David could say the same things about his team." Despite taking over from Roberto Di Matteo in February, Hodgson has quickly become a fans’ favourite with name sung around the stadium on numerous occasions. The 63-year-old revealed he has been overwhelmed with the support Albion’s faithful have given him and his side since his arrival and dedicated the win to the Hawthorns hoards. "It was great to finish at The Hawthorns with another win in front of our own fans," he added. "They've been magnificent since the moment I arrived here. "I could not have asked for any more from them. "They gave the players, staff and I a great reception on our lap around the pitch after the game."
