Dorrans searching for top form
But Scot praises fellow midfielders for performances Midfield star Graham Dorrans admits he’s not yet firing on all cylinders in the Premier League. The Scottish international has had a stop-start season so far and is yet to discover the sparkling performances which lit up the Championship last term. Dorrans played a pivotal part in the Scotland side which almost earned a point against European and world champions Spain in the week and intends to rediscover his golden touch through time spent on the training pitch. "I've not been at my best," he admitted. "I've missed a few games, other players have come in and done really well, and the team have got good results when they have been in the side. "It's been tough to come back in the side but I'll have to work hard in training and take my chance when it comes along. "I can't really put my finger on it. "I just need to work hard and get back to the form I was in last season. "I always set my stall out to come back here and start the season here. "I signed my new contract and I am happy here.” Despite Dorrans being slightly under-par, fellow midfielders Youssouf Mulumbu and Paul Scharner have both caught the eye. The defensive midfield have both impressed in Albion’s engine room with Dorrans having nothing but praise for his teammates. "Youssouf has been fantastic this season," he said. "He's picked up awards and deservedly so. "To have someone like that alongside you, gives us licence to get forward because he's always there covering you. "He's all over the park trying to win the ball when we're not in possession. "He's a quiet lad but he has his moments. "He is a funny character as well. "He gets involved in the banter of the dressing room and it's good to have that sort of personality in the squad." About Scharner he added: "He's (Paul) a big character. "He does a lot of moaning in training and games but he's got great experience and that's what we need because we've got a young squad. "He's played in the Premier League, he knows what it's about and you can see what he brings to the team - it's good having him alongside you in the side. "He took us out for dinner to a restaurant in Sutton a couple of weeks ago. "As a new signing he wanted to take us all out and get to know us. "He paid for all of us - he made us have the full monty and it was good to get all the lads out."
