Di Matteo frustrated by rough ride from refs

West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo has launched a stinging attack on referees and has claimed that what he sees as their poor decision-making could cost his team their place in the Barclays Premier League. The Baggies were denied a penalty in Tuesday's game against Wigan after defender Gary Caldwell appeared to handle the ball inside the penalty area. Di Matteo's men also feels they should have had a spot-kick against Blackburn, when Peter Odemwingie appeared to be fouled inside the box, but the referee gave a free-kick. "It's frustrating me and I'm disappointed," Di Matteo said. "We're not asking for any gifts, we're just asking for key decisions to be right. It's been the third one in four weeks for us, and it's not a 50/50 one, it's a clear decision. "Against Man United (when Gary Neville appeared to foul Graham Dorrans) it was a penalty, against Blackburn it was inside the box, it was a penalty, and the other night it was a handball. "These can make a big, big difference. I'm just asking for fairness."
