Cox wants top spot

Forward wants Midlands bragging rights Simon Cox insists Roy Hodgson’s men are aiming to finish the top Midlands club. After beating Aston Villa on Saturday, Albion are a place below Stoke City on goal difference and ahead of the three other local teams with only three games remaining. The Baggies now travel to Molineux on Sunday to face rivals Wolves knowing that another victory will aid their cause of finishing as ‘top dogs’ in the Midlands.   “We as a team are striving to finish as the top Midlands club," said the former Swindon Town man. "So that's our inspiration for Sunday's game. "It's not because we want to do whatever to Wolves, or to roll over and let them have three points, which wouldn't be fair on other clubs at the bottom. "We need to go there and be professional and worthy of where we are at the moment. "Personally, the local rivalry is more for the fans. "We know what it means but for the players it's another game where we need to be professional. "If they stay up great, we have another local derby next year. "If not then we hope they come back up and we can play them again the following year in the Premier League. "But as players we don't think about scenarios like that."
