Boss calming qualities impress Sporting and Technical Director Roberto Di Matteo’s calm characteristics and his well-thought out decisions will be a major factor in helping Albion survive relegation in next season’s Premier League, according to Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth.  The former MK Dons boss succeeded Tony Mowbray at The Hawthorns after the Baggies were relegated after a solitary season in the top flight and helped them achieve promotion at the first time of asking.  Ashworth believes Albion’s new head coach’s composed approach next season will be vital as the Baggies look to establish themselves in the Premier League and deal with any setbacks along the way. “Robbie is unflustered. He doesn’t panic and he doesn’t make rash, quick decisions,” said Ashworth. “He is a deep thinker on the game. He’s bright – he speaks five different languages for goodness sake. “You have to be impressed by the way he analyses players in the game and changes formations smoothly. “There were one or two occasions last year when we were in charge of games, the opposition tried different things but Robbie saw it immediately and countered the move. He is very smart. “But it is this quality he has to remain unflustered which is particularly impressive and very important for the challenge ahead. “We’ve already spoken about the periods that will happen next season when we will go a period of time without picking up many points. “Robbie’s character and experience means that he will handle all that without a problem.”
