Injured players set to return

Steve Clarke looks set to have a selection headache this weekend after the diagnosis on Albion’s injured players is not as bad as first thought.

Chris Brunt and Billy Jones were forced off against Villa with serious looking hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

But scans have showed neither will be sidelined for long and could be in contention to face Queens Park Rangers this Saturday.

Liam Ridgewell, Steven Reid and Jerome Thomas may also be fit for selection for Saturday’s game.

“We’re hoping that everyone might be available for Saturday but if not we’ve got the cushion of a couple of weeks for the international break,” said joint assistant Kevin Keen.

“But we’re trying to get everyone ready Saturday and we will see what happens.”
