Carson urges Baggies to end losing run

Scott Carson has urged West Brom not to get dragged into a Barclays Premier League survival battle after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season. The Baggies dropped to 10th spot after Sunday's home defeat to Manchester City, a result which followed on from the reversal at Blackpool and left them just five points above the drop zone. Skipper Carson stressed the importance of Albion keeping distance between themselves and the cluster of clubs behind them ahead of away games with bottom three sides West Ham and Wigan. He said: "We know we need to get something from the next two games. We've had two successive losses, something we've not had before this season, and something we're not used to. "We need to get our heads around the Man City game quickly and try to get two results this week. Looking at the league table, the middle-part is very tight. We're only a couple of losses from being dragged into the mix so we don't want that to happen." Carson added: "Even when we've won this season, we've kept our feet on the ground and always looked to the next game. We need to do that with defeats too - but Wednesday (at West Ham) is a big game.
