Brunt wary of Ipswich threat

West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt wants to return to Wembley in the Carling Cup but knows Ipswich will prove a tough hurdle in Wednesday night's quarter-final at Portman Road.

Brunt was part of the Baggies side beaten by Portsmouth in the 2008 FA Cup semi-final.

The Northern Ireland international said: "It is going to be a tough game. Ipswich will be up for it as it is a chance for a Championship club to get closer to Wembley."

He added: "They are going to be all guns blazing against us. It is is up to us to go there and put on a professional performance to try and get a result.

"We know what Ipswich are about. We played them twice in the Championship last season and it is not going to be an easy game. Roy Keane has got a wealth of experience as a manager and player and will have Ipswich fired up.

"But I had experience of playing at Wembley in an FA Cup semi-final three years ago and it would be great if we could get there again. If we beat Ipswich we are two games from a major final. That would be a great achievement for the football club."

Albion midfielder Somen Tchoyi hopes an impressive performance on Wednesday can bolster his chances of becoming a Premier League regular. The Cameroon international showed his quality with a stunning goal as a substitute in Albion's 4-1 win at Everton on Saturday.

Tchoyi has been confined chiefly to a bit-part role but he has started the Baggies last two Carling Cup ties and netted in the 4-1 success at Leicester in the previous round. Now he is hoping he can shine at Portman Road and put himself in the frame to start Sunday's home league encounter with Newcastle.

Tchoyi said: "I want to play. I came to England to play in the big league. I am working hard for the team and to try and get more time on the pitch. Every time I play I try my best to show what I can do.

"The game - if I am chosen - is a big chance for me to show I'm worthy of a starting place against Newcastle on Sunday. I was really pleased with my performance against Everton when I came on, and goals give you confidence."
