Brunt relieved to escape suspension

West Brom skipper Chris Brunt has escaped a two-game ban after walking a disciplinary tightrope for the past month. Brunt has been on nine yellow cards for four games and one more would have meant him having to serve a suspension. But the midfielder avoided a booking - including in Saturday's 3-2 win at Sunderland - and now a Football Association amnesty has kicked in. Brunt said: "I was relieved to get through it on Saturday and that has been the case for the past few weeks. "I'd have been gutted to have been banned for two games at this stage of the season. "The head coach (Roy Hodgson) mentioned it to me a couple of times and said he wanted me available for games."
