Boss at a loss after Bolton defeat

Di Matteo rues missed chances Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo admitted it was another case of Déjà vu for Albion on their travels after losing 2-0 to Bolton yesterday. Albion controlled large spells of the game and created a number of clear-cut chances but fired a blank at The Reebok Stadium. Goals from Matthew Taylor and Johan Elmander secured the points for the hosts with Roberto Di Matteo left again wondering what might have been. "I can say that, once again, we're going away scratching our heads," said Di Matteo. "We had more of the game and created clearer chances - but we lost. "It's difficult for a newly-promoted club in the Barclays Premier League and you get punished. "You can't miss five or six good chances because it changes the momentum of the game. "Having said that, the fact we are creating chances means the team is healthy. "We know we need to improve and be more clinical and hopefully we'll get rewarded for what we're producing. "The performances are very good and we're always very close to getting a point or three. In every game, we're very competitive. "I'd be concerned if my team wasn't creating any chances and giving a lot of chances away. "But that's not what is happening. "We know we need to improve but we're playing good football and that's the way to create good chances. "We're going to get better as the season progresses. I am sure about that. "We're also still learning. "At times today, the decision-making on our final pass was not the right one because we could have had even more chances through the final pass. "But we are new in the Barclays Premier League and other teams are maybe a little more experienced than we are - and take advantage of it."
