Boost for West Brom as Chris Brunt signs new three-year contract

West Brom winger Chris Brunt has signed a new three-year contract with the Barclays Premier League newcomers.[LNB]Staying a Baggie: Chris Brunt has signed a new deal at West Brom[LNB]The Northern Ireland international has put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Hawthorns until at least the summer of 2013.[LNB]The 25-year-old becomes the third Baggies player in the past week to commit their long-term future to the club after Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu.[LNB]Brunt played a major role last season in helping Albion to regain their top-flight status and manager Roberto Di Matteo is confident he will play a big part during the forthcoming campaign.[LNB]He said: 'Brunty fully deserves his new deal as he is an important player for us both on and off the field.[LNB]'He was a pillar of our promotion success last season and he has another important role to play this season as we look to establish ourselves in the Premier League.'[LNB]Brunt, who moved to West Brom from Sheffield Wednesday in a £3million deal three years ago, said: 'I'm delighted to sign this new deal because I feel really settled at the club, just like my family does in the area.[LNB]The club is heading in the right direction and this is a nice bonus ahead of what I hope will be a big season both for the team and on a personal level.[LNB]'I've won promotion with the club twice now and I want to top that by helping to establish Albion in the Premier League.[LNB]'That's the challenge facing the coaching staff and players and if we all pull together I believe we can have a successful season.[LNB]'The fans have been great to me during the past three years and I'm sure they'll get right behind us next season when we will need them more than ever.'[LNB]Brunt etched his name in Hawthorns folklore by scoring the goals which effectively clinched the Championship title in the final two games of the 2007-2008 campaign.[LNB]He further enhanced his reputation the following season, during his first campaign in the Premier League, finishing as the Baggies top scorer and winning the club's player of the year award.[LNB]Last term Brunt made 43 appearances and enjoyed his most prolific season yet for the club in front of goal, netting an impressive 13 times from midfield.[LNB]In total, Brunt has made 122 appearances for Albion, scoring 26 times.  [LNB][LNB]
