BIRMINGHAM v West Bromwich: Barry Ferguson and Craig Gardner struggling to be fit

04 March 2011 10:53
Birmingham's midfield duo of Barry Ferguson and Craig Gardner are major injury doubts for the home Barclays Premier League clash with West Bromwich.

Ferguson played the final hour of the Carling Cup win over Arsenal last weekend with a broken rib. Gardner suffered a calf injury and was substituted early in the second half.

Playmaker Alexander Hleb has also not recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of the final.

But winger David Bentley and defender Curtis Davies are available after being cup-tied against the Gunners.

Provisional squad: Foster, Taylor, Carr, Parnaby, Johnson, Davies, Jiranek, Ridgewell, Murphy, Larsson, Bentley, Ferguson, Gardner, Bowyer, Fahey, Beausejour, Mutch, Jerome, Zigic, Martins, Phillips, Derbyshire.
