Baggies boss praises resilient attitude

Comeback doesn't surprise Di Matteo Roberto Di Matteo again praised his team’s never-say-die attitude after the Baggies again left it late to get a share of the points.  Gylfi Sigurdsson’s sixth minute goal looked to have given in-form Reading all three points before Gabriel Tamas’ first goal for the club four minutes from time.    The precious point takes Albion within a point of leaders Newcastle United and nine clear of third placed Nottingham Forest with six games remaining.  As Albion close in on a return to the Premier League, Di Matteo hailed his players determination to earn a point at Reading and continue their unbeaten run to six games. "We've had quite a few games where we've battled away and got something out of the game," the Italian said. "I thought it was a very exciting game and some key decisions didn't go for us today. "In the first half, their keeper made some good saves and, after the break, he made a few more. "My team battled away today and showed great resilience and team spirit and never gave up. "We truly deserved the point. "We've shown that resilience many, many times this season. "In a long season like this, you need to show that. "We knew it was going to be a difficult game for us at a difficult ground. "A point there is a very good one and more so because of the way we had to chase the game for most of it. "It's a good point and keeps our run going." In an end-to-end game both Adam Federici and Scott Carson had to be at their best.  Albion’s skipper was called upon to make a number of important saves as the Baggies pressed forward for an equaliser with Roberto Di Matteo reserving special praise for the England international. "Scott was magnificent," he continued. "He was top drawer today. "He kept us in the game and was excellent. "He was brave and everything you're looking for in a goalkeeper. "Scott was outstanding."
