Baggies ace could miss Old Trafford trip
West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie is battling to overcome a knee injury ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Nigeria international suffered a knee strain in the 1-1 draw with Bolton at the Hawthorns 11 days ago. Scans revealed no serious damage but Odemwingie has still been unable to resume training.
Head coach Roberto Di Matteo confirmed: "Peter has a problem with his knee. He over-extended it during the last game against Bolton. It's good that we have had an international week but he's still not okay.
"It was swollen after the Bolton game and we hoped he would have recovered quicker. But the obviously the damage was worse than we thought. He had a scan and it's nothing serious but he needs more time."
It is another blow to the Baggies as key winger Jerome Thomas is still struggling to recover from the calf injury which ruled him out of the Bolton game.
Di Matteo admitted: "Peter and Jerome are both struggling for the weekend. They're not training at the moment."
