Argentinean ace favours Premier League switch

Mariano Pavone is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League in favour of linking up with Diego Maradona in Dubai.

Striker Pavone is thought to be on Albion’s wish list after being watched personally by Dan Ashworth during a scouting trip a number of weeks ago.

The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer and a source close to the player said the opportunity to play in England is “too much of an attraction for Mariano to turn down”.

Albion are understood to be leading the race to sign the former Real Betis and River Plate hitman – who does not require a work permit due to his Italian passport.

The source added he was “hopeful that a deal will be done soon” between the Baggies and Pavone.
