England international close to loan deal Albion are expected to clinch the loan signing of Ben Foster with a view to a permanent deal today. Blues stopper Foster is believed to have agreed a one-year loan deal with Albion paying their Midlands neighbours a fee of £4 million next summer. The signing would mark the end of Albion’s search for a goalkeeper after Scott Carson was sold to Bursaspor. The 28-year-old joined the St Andrews outfit 12 months ago from Manchester United. However, following Blues’ relegation to the Championship, they are eager to get Foster’s £1.5 million salary off the wage bill. Foster has made five international appearances for England, but recently announced his retirement from the national squad. Are you pleased with the acquistion of Ben Foster?
