Schaaf expects title tussle

Werder Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf is expecting a tight race for the Bundesliga title this season.

Schaaf's men are currently three points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen and are unbeaten since the opening day of the season, having won seven and drawn six of their last 13 league games.

Schaaf told his club's official website: "Of course it's a positive thing that the team has won out in so many games, but you can see that everything is tight in the table.

"Altogether the team has put in substantial and good performances, but as so often you would gladly have a bit more.

"There are ten teams up there who will fight for the top spots, the group is big. The situation shows that it is not easy to pull away."
