Schaaf cool after Bremen romp

Werder Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf refused to get too carried away after seeing his side win 6-0 at Freiburg.

Bremen led by a single goal at the break in the Badenova Stadion, before running riot in the second half to stake their claim for the leadership of the Bundesliga.

However, Schaaf told the club's official website: "We still have a very tough schedule of fixtures up to Christmas.

"This game was superb, but we have to take things game by game.

"We cannot take anything out of this 6-0 into our next game against Wolfsburg, the defending champions, but being up there does give us self-confidence.

"We have to once again fully concentrate towards that game. Our expectations rise with every good game."
