Schaaf: Hunt deserves chance

Werder Bremen boss Thomas Schaaf believes young German striker Aaron Hunt deserves a shot on the international stage following his impressive showings so far this term.

The 23-year-old has startled and Schaaf thinks a call-up could come sooner rather than later.

Speaking to German reporters, he said: "If you think about some of the names who are being considered for the German national team, then Aaron surely deserves to get a chance.

"He is in very good physical condition at the moment.

"I don't want to say he belongs in the national team, but if he continues to play so consistently then he could be an option.

"If he can bring a certain consistency to his performance, that would surely be very good."
