Pizarro hoping to stay on

Claudio Pizarro has urged Werder Bremen to make his loan switch from Chelsea into a permanent summer transfer.

The Peru striker scored 26 goals in all competitions this season and played a key role in Werder's German Cup success and UEFA Cup Final appearance.

Pizarro is due to return to parent club Chelsea following the end of his loan but is hoping to stay at the Weserstadion.

"I am not in touch with anyone from Chelsea Football Club," said the 30-year-old South American.

"I could imagine staying on as a player of Werder Bremen."
