Ozil rejects contract talk

Werder Bremen play-maker Mesut Ozil has brushed off reports in the media that suggest he is ready to sign a new contract extension with the Bundesliga outfit.

His current terms are due to expire next year but Ozil has announced that talks are still ongoing.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "It's in the papers, but it is not correct.

"We are still holding negotiations and we will just have to see what emerges from them."

Director of sport Klaus Allofs would love to see the 21-year-old Germany international pen a new deal with the Weserstadion outfit and he added: "It would be great if it were to happen, but we are not done yet.

"We have been looking for a solution for a while now which suits Werder Bremen and also Mesut. Maybe we will soon find one."
