Injured Naldo to miss out on Kaiserslautern date

Werder Bremen will be without Brazilian defender Naldo when they return from the Bundesliga's winter break Saturday at Kaiserslautern as he is sidelined with an injury to his left knee, Kicker magazine reported Tuesday.

"It's nothing - I hope to be back for the home game against Bayer Leverkusen on January 28," the 29-year-old stated regarding his ligament problem.

He had only returned in August from 15 months on the sidelines following surgery to his right knee and has made 12 appearances this term to help Werder to fifth spot in the Bundesliga eight points off leaders Bayern Munich.

Naldo had earlier this month suggested he might soon return to Brazil but finally elected to see out a contract running to June 2013.
