Borowski returns to Werder

Werder Bremen have re-signed Germany midfielder Tim Borowski from Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old has departed the Allianz Arena just a year after leaving Bremen for the capital. He has penned a three-year contract at the Weserstadion after failing to impress new Bayern boss Louis van Gaal.

"We are pleased that this transfer has gone through," said Bremen Thomas Schaaf.

"We have already been able to celebrate some successes with Boro. He knows the set-up at Bremen and I think that he is looking forward to joining us."

"I had a curious year at Bayern but don't want to miss this great experience," added Borowski.

"Now I am looking forward to Werder and want to start afresh there."
