Werder Bremen's video analyst had to work overtime on Wednesday as a technical fault left him stuck above the team's training field on a crane.
Mario Baric was filming the Bundesliga club's training session in Emsland for analysis purposes when the crane he was on stopped working.
He was left stranded 30 feet above the ground as the players made their way back into the dressing room.
"It was short but sweet - we'll send up some food when it gets dark," said Bremen's assistant coach Florian Kohfeldt, according to Germany's Bild newspaper.
It took staff over half an hour to get Baric back down on the ground safely, manually operating the crane to free the video analyst.
