Watford have confirmed that Ashley Young has rejected the opportunity to move to another unnamed Premiership club.
The highly-rated forward has been the subject of intense transfer speculation since Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd revealed the club had accepted a £9million bid for his services last weekend.
West Ham had been heavily linked with the 21-year-old, but despite the club giving Young the option of leaving Vicarage Road, the player himself is keen to stay and help Watford attempt to avoid relegation from the Premiership.
"We have stated many times over that we have no need or desire to sell Ashley Young - or any of our players for that matter," chairman Graham Simpson told the club's official website.
"However, having given due consideration to all of the factors, I felt that this offer was right for the club."
