Hornets wait on Vydra

Watford will check on Matej Vydra ahead of the home game against Leeds.

Striker Vydra had to go off after an hour of the Hornets' 2-0 win over Rotherham on Tuesday evening after suffering a dead leg.

However another forward, Mathias Ranegie, could be added to the squad after recovering from the groin problem which has prevented him from being involved so far this season.

Craig Cathcart is still ruled out with a knee injury and fellow centre-half Joel Ekstrand is serving the second of a three-match ban following his red card at Norwich on Saturday.

Leeds are hopeful of having new striker Mirco Antenucci available after joining from Ternana on Wednesday, subject to international clearance.

The 30-year-old was fifth in the Serie B scoring charts last season with 19 goals when captain of his former club and has also had spells with Torino and Catania.

Antenucci makes a timely arrival as Souleymane Doukara will be sidelined for around four weeks after rupturing his ankle ligaments during last weekend's home win over Middlesbrough, while Giuseppe Bellusci could make his debut in defence.

Bellusci originally moved to Elland Road on a one-year loan deal from Catania but the 25-year-old has now signed a permanent contract that will keep him at the club until 2018 after being an used substitute for Tuesday's loss to Brighton.
