Battocchio out for Hornets

Cristian Battocchio will sit out Watford's game against Leeds with a knee injury.

The Italy Under-21 international picked up the problem in the 1-1 draw with Burnley and will undergo a scan on Tuesday to establish the extent of the damage.

Defender Lloyd Doyley (ankle), Fernando Forestieri (toe) and Fitz Hall (Achilles) remain sidelined for the Hornets.

The late Clarets equaliser left Beppe Sannino's side 10 points adrift of the play-offs with only seven games remaining.

Leeds defender Sam Byram has been ruled out of the game due to a hamstring injury.

Byram played the full 90 minutes in a midfield role in Saturday's defeat at Wigan, so there could be a recall for teenager Alex Mowatt or Luke Murphy.

Midfielder Rudy Austin remains doubtful after missing the last two games due to an ankle injury and winger Jimmy Kebe (hamstring) is still sidelined.

Striker Ross McCormack struggled on with illness at Wigan, but is expected to resume as Leeds look to halt a run of four straight defeats and secure their first win on the road in eight matches.
