Riera banned for Hornets

Watford will be without Albert Riera when they bring the curtain down on their campaign against Huddersfield.

The former Manchester City and Liverpool winger was sent off in the midweek defeat at Charlton and serves a one-match ban, joining a host of team-mates on the sidelines.

Almen Abdi, Lewis McGugan (both knee), Manuel Alumina (Achilles), Davide Faraoni (hip), Fernando Forestieri and Chu-Young Park (both toe) have all been ruled out of the season finale.

Joel Ekstrand and Marco Cassetti are, however, available to Beppe Sannino, who has suggested he will play some younger players in the dead rubber.

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka will make a series of late decisions.

Full-back George Friend missed last weekend's 3-1 home win over Barnsley with a groin injury and he is being assessed after treatment. The same applies to midfielder Grant Leadbitter, who also sat out the game at the Riverside Stadium because of a back problem.

Striker Kei Kamara is back in training after hernia surgery but it remains to be seen whether or not Karanka is prepared to risk him, while defenders Rhys Williams (Achilles) and Stuart Parnaby (knee) and frontman Muzzy Carayol (anterior cruciate ligament) remain on the long-term casualty list.

Midfielder Dean Whitehead is fit but has 14 bookings to his name this season and one more could see him miss the first three games of the new campaign through suspension.
