Hornets missing duo

Watford boss Giuseppe Sannino will be without Craig Cathcart and Sean Murray when they host Bolton on the opening day of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.

Former Blackpool defender Cathcart (knee) has been struggling during pre-season while the game is likely to come too soon for Sean Murray who is continuing his recovery from an ankle problem.

Matej Vydra is in line to make his second debut for the club having rejoined on loan from Udinese but it remains to be seen how involved fellow striker Troy Deeney will be after courting interest from a number of Barclays Premier League clubs.

Summer loan recruit Keith Andrews is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Mark Davies looks set to miss Bolton's opening weekend trip to Vicarage Road.

The midfielder has a toe problem, which he sustained about three weeks ago, and missed Sunday's final pre-season friendly against Dutch side Vitesse as a result.

Although he trained on Monday this week, Davies has just a 40 per cent chance of featuring - according to manager Dougie Freedman, who is known not to risk players unless their fitness can be proven.

However, Darren Pratley has featured in the summer friendlies following a shoulder problem which has kept him sidelined from competitive football since February.
