Watford have signed Marseille right-back Brice Dja Djedie on a four-year deal, the club have announced.
The Ivory Coast international had earlier claimed via French newspaper L'Equipe that he had secured a move to the Premier League side for a reported £4million.
But the Hornets have now confirmed the signing for an undisclosed fee and he is set to join up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour of Austria.
The 25-year-old featured 70 times for Marseille, having made his name for Evian during a four-year spell.
Dja Djedie becomes Walter Mazzarri's fifth summer signing ahead of the new season, following the arrivals of Christian Kabasele, Jerome Sinclair, Isaac Success and Juan Camilo Zuniga.
