Shittu intent on leaving

Watford centre-back Danny Shittu still appears to be heading away from Vicarage Road despite talks breaking down with Rangers.

The Glasgow-based club had a £1.5million offer for the defender accepted last weekend and the Nigeria international had looked set for a move to Scotland.

Talks then broke down over contractual details but Shittu has now said that he believes a move to Ibrox is still likely, despite his frustration at how the negotiations had gone.

"They put a proposal on the table which I accepted but when it came to putting the contract in writing the deal had changed," Shittu explained.

"I know there is other interest out there but my first choice remains Rangers and I still believe a deal can be done."
