Goalkeeper Scott Carson has been released from the England squad to play against Bulgaria. [LNB]Watford keeper Scott Loach has been called up from the Under 21s as the replacement for the West Bromwich stopper[LNB]Carson was hoping to make his first England appearance since the victory over Germany in Berlin in November 2008, although the role has always been earmarked for Manchester City's Joe Hart.[LNB] Out: Carson has been released on compassionate grounds but may return for the clash with Switzerland[LNB]However, the news does highlight the lack of goalkeeping depth available to Capello.[LNB]Loach ended up being the understudy to Hart for last month's friendly win over Hungary when current number two Ben Foster withdrew through injury and Paul Robinson announced his retirement from international football.[LNB]Chance to shine: Loach will be linking up with the England squad[LNB]Capello is hoping Carson will return to the fold on Sunday ahead of thesecond part of England's opening Euro 2012 double-header againstSwitzerland in Basle on Tuesday.[LNB]Loach had been due to face Portugal for Stuart Pearce's Under-21 side in a vital European Championship qualifier, but now Pearce will have to look at alternative options.[LNB]The good news for Capello was that the remaining members of his squad were all able to train at Wembley this morning.[LNB]The improved surface allowed the squad to abandon their normal routine of a pre-match training session at Arsenal's London Colney complex in favour of a run-out at the national stadium.[LNB]The presence of Everton's Phil Jagielka was good news given he has been unable to train so far this week due to an ankle injury sustained in his side's Premier League defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.[LNB]Whether a single day's training will be enough to earn Jagielka a starting slot against Bulgaria remains in doubt.[LNB]As it seems Matthew Upson is likely to take one central defensive slot, Joleon Lescott, the uncapped Gary Cahill and, most likely, Tottenham's Michael Dawson are the alternatives.[LNB] Question time for Fabio Capello!
