Rodgers hails Hornets strength
18 Feb 2009 - 16:21:39
Watford boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with his side's display in the 2-0 win at home to Swansea City, which lifted the Hornets out of the relegation places.
Tamas Priskin and Tommy Smith were the goalscorers for Rodgers' side, but he was pleased with the overall team performance at Vicarage Road.
He told the club's official website: "Tactically the game is very important.
"We've got lots of players within this country who can run, who can work hard, who will fight for their lives and those who have big hearts - but you have to play with your brain and you have to understand the game.
"Tonight the players showed a great understanding of how to combat a very good side. We were strong.
"Tactically we were very, very good and the clean sheet is very important. In the last three league games, that's two clean sheets out of three."
